It’s not easy to sum yourself up — not in a sentence, not in a page.
I’ve always found labels too limiting, bios too neat. So this space, markmtph.com, is my way of carving out something looser. Something closer to how life actually feels: in motion.
The name? It’s personal. MTPH stands for metric tons per hour — a unit that speaks to flow, pace, and sustained movement. For me, it’s always been more than just a technical term. It mirrors how I’ve approached the last two decades: steady work, long-haul thinking, and trust built over time.
There’s another layer too. In Chinese culture, 168 is shorthand for yī liù bā — “prosperity all the way.” It’s about momentum without friction. A belief that when things move with purpose, good things follow. I’ve carried that with me, across years of navigating diverse industries, perspectives, and challenges. The specifics change. The principles don’t.
I come from the world of chemicals — trade, materials, logistics — but even that feels like a simplification. I’ve spent nearly 20 years listening, solving, building quiet relationships that last. Not everything needs to be loud to make an impact.
So, what is this site? It’s not a brand. It’s not a campaign. It’s just a space that reflects where I’ve been, what I’ve learned, and maybe what’s next. A home for ideas, projects, stories. A place to keep moving.
Thanks for being here. If you’ve read this far, I hope you found something true.
